Tenzir appoints former Gartner Research Director as Chief Futurist

Hamburg, DE, November 1, 2022 — Tenzir, the pioneer in delivering security-native data architecture, today announced that Oliver Rochford has joined as Chief Futurist.

Oliver is a former Gartner research director, where he was the key initiative lead for threat and vulnerability management, co-authored the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Magic Quadrant, and co-defined the Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) market category. He is an industry veteran with over twenty years of experience and has worked as a practitioner and for vendors such as Qualys, Tenable, Verizon, and Secunia. Most recently, he served as Director of Applied Research for Securonix. He will be heading the technical advocacy, marketing, and community efforts for Tenzir.

“We are overjoyed to welcome Oliver to the Tenzir leadership team,” said Matthias Vallentin, CEO, and founder of Tenzir. “Oliver’s extensive cybersecurity background and market analysis experience will strengthen Tenzir’s leadership team, help ensure that we build and deliver the best security data solution in the industry and position ourselves to fundamentally shake up the security operations and analytics market. His strong track record in research and thought leadership will help Tenzir grow our community and user base and accelerate the commercialization of our open-source data fabric.”

“Cybersecurity is fundamentally a data problem in many ways, but we spend way too much time on data wrangling instead of hunting threats or quantifying risk,” said Rochford. “That’s why I am very excited to join Tenzir and work on a truly innovative solution. The team has purpose-built a data platform from the ground up, empowering security teams to rapidly build and maintain massively scalable and adaptive security architectures.”
